Candidate Profile

We welcome applications from leaders who have successfully transformed complex organizations and have a strong commitment to improving urban public education in America.

Who should apply?

We seek high-performing, experienced leaders who are committed to being agents of change on behalf of students, families and communities. Strong candidates are focused on driving positive outcomes at scale for all young people, particularly the student groups traditionally underserved by our public school systems. Each Academy cohort includes 15-20 participants.

This fellowship is for leaders in education who run: 

  • Urban school districts
  • Urban public charter school networks
  • State education agencies
  • Public school turnaround systems

Leaders both inside and outside education also are encouraged to apply if you:

  • Have significant experience and proven results as a high-level, system leader
  • Are civic-minded and passionate about creating life-changing opportunities for young people through urban public education
