Tomi Amos
The Broad Residency Class of 2017-2019

As a first-generation American, I was raised to believe in the power of education and the opportunities it provides. This belief drives me to pursue a career in education. After a decade of working in education, I can say without equivocation that my life’s work is to close opportunity gaps and ensure equitable outcomes for all students.
Tomi Amos is a turnaround support manager for the Colorado Department of Education, where she partners with district leaders and principals across the state to facilitate performance management and professional development to accelerate student achievement. Before joining The Broad Residency, Tomi served as an assistant principal and principal fellow at STRIVE Preparatory Schools in Denver. She began her career in education teaching seventh grade as a Teach for America corps member in New York City. Tomi earned a bachelor's degree in political science and international studies from Trinity University, a doctorate from University of Denver Sturm College of Law and a master's degree in education leadership from Columbia University.
