Senior director, alumni and network impact

Phuong Vuong is a change agent for education, immigrants and her local communities.

When Phuong became a parent, she couldn’t believe that so little had changed in public education since she was a first-generation college student. She decided to effect change in her own way to ensure all children have access to a high-quality education.

At The Broad Center, Phuong leads the Career Services team dedicated to supporting alumni as they progress in their careers. The services she and her team design and provide to Broad Center alumni allows them to be more effective in their jobs with the greater goal of increasing the positive impact each alumnus makes in their organization to benefit students.

Prior to transitioning to the Alumni & Network Impact team, Phuong oversaw internal organizational talent and operations for The Broad Center.

Drawing from her previous experience in the business world, Phuong brings that expertise to the education nonprofit context with her extensive knowledge on strategy development, general management, growth plans and organizational culture.

She has also volunteered within the communities where she has lived, from providing Vietnamese translation for pro bono immigration attorneys in the city of San Francisco to serving on the board of a nonprofit focused on supporting refugees and immigrants across the greater Philadelphia area.
