The Broad Fellowship for Education Leaders
The Broad Residency 2003-2005

Melissa Zaikos began her tenure with Chicago Public Schools through The Broad Residency as a project leader. After nearly a decade in the district, she was a chief area officer, supervising more than 100 schools. During her tenure, the number of students in these schools performing at or above standards on the Illinois state assessment improved by nearly 20 percentage points. Today she leads Intrinsic Schools, a public charter network that offers college-prep curriculum in a blended learning environment for Chicagoland students from grades 7 through 12.

Melissa Zaikos (The Broad Residency 2003-2005) served as Director, Autonomous Schools for Chicago Public Schools during her Residency.
