The Broad Residency 2018-2020

I seek to be a change maker, knowing that in order to create change one must be willing to disrupt the norm. Breaking generational cycles of poverty through college access and persistence is work my team does every day.

Tiffany Russ is the director of the KIPP Through College program at KIPP Nashville, overseeing the region’s college readiness programs and college persistence outcomes. Before joining The Broad Residency, Tiffany was a college persistence manager working to confront the low college-going and retention statistics of low-income, minority students from underserved communities. Prior to that, she was a student success coach for InsideTrack, a leading provider of college student success coaching for enrollment, retention and career development. She began her career in education as a high school chemistry teacher in Mississippi where she witnessed firsthand the crippling effect of limited student access to post-secondary options. Tiffany earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Jackson State University and a masters in higher education administration from the University of West Alabama.
